Sivadevi, Director of Kalpavrikshalaya, is an Engineering Graduate who served as a Software Engineer in multinational companies before dedicating her life to transformative early childhood education. While seeking a meaningful educational philosophy for her daughter, she discovered Dr. Maria Montessori’s scientific pedagogy.
She earned her Montessori Diploma from the Indian Montessori Training Course (IMTC), Chennai, followed by a Child Psychology Diploma from Stonebridge University, UK. She contributed to school transformation initiatives in Delhi Government schools after earning her post-graduate diploma in learning and teaching from "I Am A Teacher", Gurgaon.
Guided by the educational legacy of her mother, Smt. J. Kalaivani (a revered school principal with over 25 years of service in Chennai), she founded Kalpavrikshalaya to provide children with a joyful sanctuary to explore, experiment, and evolve.
